About traditional Turkmen cuisine
National cuisine of the Turkmen people. In terms of technology and range of products, it is very close to the cuisines of other Central Asian peoples, although the Turkmen have their own Turkmen cooking methods for all dishes. The most popular dishes among the Turkmen are pilaf, which in Turkmen will be “palow”, manti – “manty”, dumplings – “börök”, and we also have a dish called “dograma” (soup to which crumbled pieces of bread and meat were added specially prepared).
Ishlekli: This is one of the Turkmen national holiday dishes. A very filling and tasty pie.
The main types of milk used by Turkmens are camel and sheep. Dairy products – “agaran”, “chal”. The presence of national fish dishes on the menu, created by the Caspian Turkmens, sharply distinguishes Turkmen cuisine as a whole from other Central Asian cuisines. Fish dishes – “haplama”, “cheme”, “balyk berek”. “balykly yakhana”, “ash”.
